Our Value Pillars
Equity & Access
We are committed to dismantling systemic barriers that limit opportunity for Black and Brown, transgender people, and marginalized community members. Equity means meeting our community where they are and ensuring access to life-affirming resources, services, and opportunities without judgment or gatekeeping.
Community & Brotherhood
We believe healing and growth happen in community. TTMOC fosters connection, mutual support, and collective responsibility, recognizing brotherhood as both a bond and a practice rooted in care, accountability, and shared purpose.
Authenticity & Dignity
We honor the full humanity of every individual we serve. By eliminating shame and affirming lived experience, we create spaces where people are seen, respected, and empowered to show up as their whole selves.
Healing & Resilience
Our work centers trauma-informed care, emotional wellness, and sustainable healing. We acknowledge harm while nurturing resilience, offering pathways for individuals to process pain, reclaim power, and move forward with strength.
Leadership & Empowerment
We cultivate leadership at every level. By investing in mentorship, skill-building, and volunteerism, we equip community members to lead, advocate, and create change for themselves and others.
Unity & Collective Power
We reject fear-based narratives and isolation. Through unity and collaboration, we amplify our collective voice, challenge stigma, and demonstrate the strength that emerges when our community moves together.
About Us
Thriving Transmen of Color (TTMOC) is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to community development, crisis intervention, mentorship, referrals, and networking opportunities for individuals experiencing severe economic and social deprivation. Our mission is rooted in addressing systemic inequities while empowering our community to move beyond survival and into stability, leadership, and self-determination.
Led by Black and Brown, transgender people both binary and nonbinary, and marginalized community members TTMOC centers lived experience, equity, and inclusivity in everything we do. We provide direct, culturally responsive support to individuals facing layered barriers, while intentionally fostering volunteerism and leadership within under-resourced communities. By removing shame and encouraging authenticity, we create spaces where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive together.
Founded to challenge stigma against transgender people of color, Thriving Transmen of Color exists to amplify our community’s resilience, capacity, and collective power. We actively confront fear, trauma, and systems that attempt to silence us, working to shift narratives and demonstrate what is possible when our community is supported, visible, and united.
In recognition of our impact and commitment to community-centered advocacy, TTMOC is a 2024 National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition Community Impact Award recipient.
