Acadiana Creative Arts Foundation

Acadiana Creative Art Center
A location where residents of Acadiana (specifically teens) can gather to create and practice the arts. This location isn’t about exposures to the arts; it’s about interaction, hands on experience, and accessibility to programs that our community is severely lacking. It is a location where local kids, teens, whoever, can just hang out. This in turn will keep them out of trouble and off the streets. Our community center has enough space for different activities. activities will include; • Drawing, painting • Mosaic, glasswork • Dance studio space (dance floor) • Music • Chill spaces (for home work, computers with internet access, comfortable furniture) • Activity spaces (for video games like Xbox, and TVs, board games, etc.) • Classes in different forms of art, given by area artist, as well as guest artist from around the country. • Activities for senior citizens, such as painting and computer classes. • Youth organizations can use the space on occasion, to create as a group, such as Girl and Boy scouts, or Big Brothers/ Sister. • Music events, for local music groups to get noticed. • Movie nights, movies with different themes, for different age groups. • Activities for the disabled, such as music through light shows for the deaf, or sculpture class for the blind. • Field trips for local schools.
