We are an international organization inspired by a love for Tolkien that has devoted itself to decolonising, democratising, and defending equity in Tolkien communities, ranging from fandom to academia. We are here to discuss topics of intersectional importance such as race, sexuality, gender identity, and disability through Tolkien and his works, all while creating a platform for fans, scholars, and academics to share their personal visions and interpretations of Tolkien’s characters and writings.
We want to uplift the voices of everyone who feels otherwise under-represented in their respective Tolkien literary and fan circles, with a particular focus on fans of colour, by providing spaces where ideas can flourish, discussions can be had, and connections can be made. We hope to host a slew of content including everything from scholarly blogs and fanart to fanfiction and academic papers.
Tolkien’s works have created a global fellowship fuelled by a shared love of powerful stories and incredible characters. Our vision is to unite the minds and hearts of all these passionate people and create a platform where they can be exposed to, and excited by new perspectives and new readings of the text we all know and love.
