About Us

Project RACE began in the mind of a young college graduate who realized that there was more to the college experience than taking exams, writing papers, and studying in the library. Pursing education at the college or university level is an opportunity for young people to discover their talents and face their limitations as they interact with fellow intellectuals, roommates, and peers. The mission of Project RACE is to address the psycho-social aspects of this developmental process in the life of current and future academics. With specific attention paid to basic budgeting, adjusting to living with a roommate(s), healthy lifestyles, and healthy relationships, Project RACE has developed an interactive program to prepare students for the aspects of college that may not have been covered in other venues. There are numerous programs dedicated to first generation college students, minority students, and students who come from a lineage of college graduates. However, there are few programs in existence committed to one of the most significant factors of the college experience which is socialization. Project RACE offers a comprehensive workshop about the psychological and emotional adjustment of college. We believe that being a successful student includes not only academic excellence but personal growth and emotional awareness as well.
