Out of Eden Walk

  • About Us

The Out of Eden Walk, founder Paul Salopek’s multiyear storytelling trek retracing the migration of our ancestors from Africa to South America, works in partnership with National Geographic Society and others to amplify local voices and perspectives along Salopek’s global route, offers specialized education resources for learners of all ages, and fosters meaningful connection and cross-cultural exchange across borders. By deploying the power of “slow” storytelling to inspire, elevate, and empower, a diverse new generation of voices produces nuanced narratives, explores deeper truths and derives new connections. We are engaging, uniting, and empowering people across human-made and artificial borders through experiential storytelling and community walks. Harnessing the energies of people to define, redefine, and share their experiences of “home” to lift new voices, promote understanding, we fight racism, bias, and xenophobia.
