African Foundation For People In Need
African Foundation for People In Need was founded in 2003 as a Christian community based organization [CBO], to reach-out rural families of grandmothers living with orphans and needy children; and to provide sustainable solutions to education marginalization, excessive poverty in the homes; and improve on quality of life among children and their vulnerable care-givers dwelling in the rural.
Huge numbers of street children in Uganda are from such vulnerable family backgrounds who are often caught in situations in which they are at extreme risk. Street children are forced into child labour, child prostitution to survive for example and into situations where they are physically, emotionally and sexually harassed. These situations can be hard for International Aid Organizations to identify because they lack on-the-ground knowledge.
As a Christian organization, we aim "to reach-out to orphans and widows in their afflictions" (James 1:27) before they get on streets to join and adopt horrible habits and turn to commit crime to survive. AFFPIN makes every endeavor to follow the example and teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord in bringing hope to the disadvantaged and the needy bringing good new and hope in rural.
