Link Community Development International
Link Community Development
Link Community Development International is an organization working with over 2,600 schools in sub-Saharan Africa to improve the quality of education. Over the past 20 years, we have built relationships and collaborated directly with Ministries of Education in Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, South Africa and Uganda to develop and deliver innovative programs to enhance educational opportunities for all children. In Africa, our local teams have in-depth understanding of the educational system and work directly with Ministry staff, District Education Officers (DEOs), communities and schools by providing support and training for improved school management, leadership, teaching and learning. We also work with teachers, communities and parents to promote girls’ education initiatives, health and HIV/AIDS education, and provide care to orphans and vulnerable children. Collaborating at all levels of the education system, Link develops and tests these interventions with the goals of producing long-term systemic change.
Link Community Development USA Office
Link USA is the newest addition to the international Link family, opening in November 2008 with office headquarters in Chicago. Link USA works in collaboration with our international partners to identify and leverage U.S.-based education initiatives and resources. We work in collaboration with US teachers, students and educational policy experts to ensure a sharing of best practices and innovations with our schools in sub-Saharan Africa. These efforts simultaneously foster cross-cultural learning and global citizenship in the United States.
