Sizanani Children's Home
Founded in 1993, Sizanani Children's Home presently accommodates 58 children and young adults with moderate to profound mental and physical disabilities that are orphaned, abandoned or come from poor socio-economic backgrounds.
Sizanani Home works under the social model of care towards people with disabilities, which believes that all people with disabilities must be respected and valued as members of their community, that people with profound and severe disabilities can be trained to gain increased independence in their everyday life and that it is the duty of society to create an accessible physical and social environment. The social model emphasises that people with disabilities are often not so much restricted by their disabilities, but the barriers that exist in mainstream societies. We are dedicated to ensuring that all of our children receive the highest quality care as well as the love and attention they deserve.
