  • Mission

The League of Women Voters of San Francisco is a nonpartisan political nonprofit that defends democracy. We provide education to encourage people to vote in elections and participate in government. We also engage in advocacy to influence public policy that benefits the community. People of all genders are welcome. We do not support or oppose candidates or political parties.

    About Us

Being a voter is just one way to be civically engaged. Democracy needs defenders like you every day. We help you get involved in issues that matter in our San Francisco community.

We're volunteer-led, member-driven, and grassroots. Our programs include:

    • Voter resources — We provide people with essential election information so they can be a confident voter and contact their representatives.
    • Advocacy — We study community issues, develop positions, and run programs that address our areas of focus.
    • Community services — We're here when the community needs an expert elections speaker or wants help with a voter registration drive.

LWVSF is fully committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in principle and in practice. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to our current and future success in engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policy makers in creating a more perfect democracy.
