The Council of Native Caribbean Heritage (C.O.N.C.H.) is dedicated to supporting Indigenous Caribbean communities-especially the Lokono (Arawak) Nation-through sustainable development, cultural preservation, and health equity. Our key initiatives include:
Beekeeping for Livelihoods - In partnership with Sweet Naturals, we support Lokono villages in Guyana (Wakapoa, Pakuri, Moraikobai) with training, hives, and tools to produce quality honey and generate sustainable income.
Language Revitalization - We're creating lasting resources for the Lokono language: an online dictionary on Webonary, bilingual children’s books on GitHub, a Lokono YouTube channel, and teacher-developed materials. We also support the Academic Council for Lokono-Ajian and are building a multi-Arawak language archive.
Medical Missions to Cuba - In Yateras, Cuba, we provide essential medications via MAP International, with support from the U.S. BIS. These missions improve access to care in remote communities.
Indigenous Grant Warriors - We train Lokono leaders in grant writing and NGO development to empower self-driven community initiatives in language, health, and sustainability.
Join us in preserving heritage, empowering communities, and building a more equitable future.
