Rhode Island Service Alliance
The Rhode Island Service Alliance is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to administer and promote exemplary national and community service programs throughout the state. Founded in 1994, the Service Alliance has enabled countless individuals to apply their talents, dedication and hard work to making significant contributions in their communities.
The Service Alliance's primary responsibility is overseeing the eight AmeriCorps programs funded by the federal Corporation for National Service. It is also charged with integrating a full and impressive array of community-based service projects into a cohesive whole. Among these are the Learn and Serve America program and the YES! Foundation. To help participants in these and other programs meet their fullest potential, the Service Alliance offers Training and Technical Assistance grants, a broad-based training initiative to ensure the quality and effectiveness of their service work.
