Boston Classical Orchestra
Founded in 1980, the Boston Classical Orchestra performs subscription concerts in Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall. Our mission is to offer outstanding performances of the chamber orchestra repertoire in an intimate setting, concentrating on music of the Classical period. Through imaginatively presented, live concerts given in a relaxed atmosphere, the Boston Classical Orchestra seeks to foster a sense of connection between audience and performers, and to appeal to a growing and varied public. From 1983 to 1999 distinguished conductor Harry Ellis Dickson served as Music Director. In 1999, he was succeeded by the visionary, prize-winning conductor Steven Lipsitt. The BCO has an active in-school educational outreach program with the Boston Public Schools.
