MLV FOUNDATION INC

I began MLV, aka My Limitless Vision, when I began losing my vision to Glaucoma a few years back. I was really struggling to find help and encouragement and to connect with others who have been through vision loss. I knew that if I was struggling with it, others had to be too. We began by setting up social outings and trips. Becoming blind can lead you to becoming very isolated and our trips allowed us to get out of our homes, test our orientation and mobility skills, and expand awareness to the sighted world that there really are several blind people around. We put on an annual event called Hooks, Oars, and S'mores which is a fishing and fun in the sun day for the blind and visually impaired. In 2020, we are adding in a two and half day conference for the blind and visually impaired of the 4-state region (Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, & Arkansas = MOKA) where there are over 400,000 blind and visually impaired, to our programming as well as being able to launch a couple of new programs we plan to start later in 2020.
