    About Us

Established in 1874 in Red Bank, NJ, the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County, based in Shrewsbury, NJ, remains dedicated to its cause-driven mission of fostering youth development, promoting healthy living, and advancing social responsibility. Over 150 years later, the Y continues to serve the community by offering a wide range of programs and services aimed at building a healthy mind, body and spirit of all. Our branches, including the Red Bank YMCA, the Freehold YMCA, and the Old Bridge YMCA, are instrumental in delivering these vital resources to our community.

At the YMCA, volunteers are integral to the implementation of our programs and initiatives, both within the Y itself and throughout the communities we serve. Our organization thrives on the dedication of volunteers who serve as a powerful force for good, wielding the ability to make a significant and enduring impact on countless lives.

Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds-neighbors, business leaders, parents, teens, community advocates, and individuals driven by the desire to give back. They provide people of all ages and walks of life with the resources and support necessary to foster health, confidence, connectivity, and security.
