Breathe California Sacramento-Region
Breathe California Sacramento Region is a nonprofit organization dedicated to healthy air and preventing lung and other air-pollution related diseases by partnering with youth, advocating public policy, supporting air pollution research, and educating the public.
Founded in 1917 as the Sacramento County Tuberculosis Association, the organization that is now Breathe California Sacramento Region serves 28 counties in Northern California and is locally focused but nationally recognized for breaking new ground in and seeking original solutions to cleaning the air and improving lung health.
We are the same organization that pioneered the creation of smoke-free workplaces and restaurants, helped make light-rail a reality in Sacramento, fought for the passage of Proposition 99, and played an instrumental role in phasing out rice straw burning in the Sacramento Valley.
Today, Breathe California Sacramento Region continues its tradition of breaking new ground and seeking original solutions to clean our air, improve lung health, and eliminate tobacco from people's lives. We spend 100% of every dollar raised in our own communities to support and expand our programs to improve the health of our residents.
