A Better Day Healthcare and Education, Inc. Is a newly formed nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping the unemployed population develop job skills which they can use to become gainfully employed. We will accomplish this through a variety of support programs and services available that will be available to anyone who finds themselves in a time of need. Through the programs we will be offering we would like to give our participants the motivation and skills they need to regain their independence and dignity.
The programs our organization will be offering will be open to anyone in need, although we will be placing a special emphasis on the homeless, veterans, elderly and disabled populations. One of the ways we will be helping people find employment is through our employment counseling program. This program will be focused on working with our participants on developing basic employment skills and teaching job search strategies.
We will also be organizing and hosting weekend workshops to help participants increase their chances of securing available positions. These workshops will be focused on helping people prepare quality resumes, develop interview skills and dress in a professional manner. One way we will be helping our participants dress appropriately is by collecting and redistributing suits and business clothing to those in need for job interviews. As a part of this program we will also be bringing in guest speakers to motivate our participants and talk to them about various industries and career paths that may be available to them.
Another way in which our organization will be helping unemployed individuals find work in the community is by offering a training program for careers in the health care industry. The training programs we will be offering will be focused on preparing our participants to take the state examinations necessary to become a Personal Care Aide or a Certified Nursing Assistant. Our Personal Care Aide program will consist of 40 hours of classroom training that will take place over 2- 3 weeks, based on our participants and their schedule. Our Certified Nursing Assistant program will be taught over a 3-4 month period, with all participants taking part in 40 hours of training each week. There will be a $160 fee to participate in our Personal Care Aide program and a S300 fee to participate in our Certified Nursing Assistant program.
In addition to helping those we work with find and improve their employment opportunities we will also be providing assistance in other ways. One of the other ways in which we will be helping is by providing support in finding quality and affordable housing. We will accomplish this by helping locate housing opportunities in the local community. After helping identify potential housing opportunities we will be assisting our participants with completing applications and gathering any necessary documentation. In order to qualify for this support the individuals must qualify as a charitable class based on income, age or documented disability. The housing organizations we will be working with will be exempt under IRC 501(c)(3) or be government run organizations. At no time will we have any relationship with these organizations or their leadership.
Along with offering assistance with finding housing our organization will also be helping our participants find quality and affordable childcare services. We will accomplish this by identifying available services in the community, assistance with completing applications and gathering required documentation. If necessary we may also offer support in paying the first month’s fees, so that they parents can begin working without having to worry about the financial burden of childcare. The organizations we will be working with will be exempt under IRC 501(c)(3). At no time will we have any relationship with these organizations or their leadership.
In the future, as our organization grows, we will be working to expand our existing programs and services, while also developing new programs and services to better serve our target population. As a nonprofit organization we are committed to continually offering the highest quality programs and services possible with the resources we have available. Through the programs we will be offering we would like to give our participants the motivation and skills they need to regain their independence and dignity.
