About Us

The mission of Science Corps is to build scientific capacity in underdeveloped parts of the world, fostering innovation and development using the power of science education. Science Corps accomplishes this mission by placing individuals who have recently completed their PhD in a STEM subject area to teach science abroad during a six-month fellowship. Over the course of the fellowship, Science Corps Fellows will support innovative local schools and projects by developing scientific curricula, hosting workshops, and demonstrating experiments that provide students with hands-on science experience.

Science Corps Fellows have a significant impact at the host sites, where they inspire the next generation of STEM researchers while bridging the science education gap. The experience also impact the fellows, as many STEM PhDs have been on rigorous academic tracks and may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience another culture or share their passion for science in such an impactful way. By cultivating the Science Corps Fellows alumni community and encouraging continued relationships with the host sites, we hope to build a science community that is globally aware and values the sharing of knowledge and resources to address our most pressing problems.
