Teaming for Technology at United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania
The Teaming for Technology Program is an initiative sponsored by IBM, United Way, and the Corporation for National Service. The project is designed to increase the technological capacity of nonprofits in the administration and delivery of services, to ensure that individuals (particularly youth) in low income communities have increased access to computers.
As part of our technological capacity building, the program provides technology planning, hardware and software acquisition and installation, network configuration, website development and enhancement and other consultative services. Locally, these services will be geared towards technology programming enhancement and incubation. We believe firmly that existing services or solid plans for providing technology based services, should drive the technological capacity building, rather than providing computers in the hope that by providing computers technology based programming will develop.
