About Us

The After-School Leaders Academy is a 501(c) 3, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare as a school-aged childcare center that focuses on social and academic development, including project-based learning activities (PBL), literacy, cultural and recreational activities that promote leadership and independent thinking. In addition to the activities listed above, other enrichment activities include: chess, computer lab, photography, dance, service learning, theater and pottery. Middle school scholars participate in life skills, career exploration, computer classes and skills development.

The After-School Leaders Academy is aligned with the PA Academic Standards for Reading and Math and the Core Standards for Philadelphia’s Youth Programs and is seeking accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, PA Keystone STARS and the National Afterschool Association.
