About Us

We are a Community Based Organisation working in rural Kabale in the south of Uganda, near the Rwandan border. We primarily work with young orphans, vulnerable children & those with disabilities and their families. We have a preschool and a parent support group, (as well as a youth club for older children offering activities in sports, dance & drama, leadership and agricultural skills) located near to Kitumba Primary School, in Kitumba. We have recently started a disability project integrating CWD children into the preschool (where possible), & linking them with other relevant agencies. We also place a lot of emphasis on training women in useful skills & education e.g.agriculture & craft skills, nutrition & hygiene, rights training & literacy. We have started small 'development centres' run by teams of women to support others in their local area. Our work is only beginning, but we hope to have established a child development centre by 2015; and become a model of good practice, promoting inclusive education and participatory community work. Our projects involve income generating activities for sustainable development, and a community water project.
