Hawah V. Kamara Children’s Foundation (HVK) was established as a community-based organization whose purpose is to improve the lives of underprivileged populations in West Africa, Liberia. The organization was registered in Massachusetts on October 24th, 2016, and has a 501 (c) (3) status since 2018.
Goal
To improve the quality of life among Liberians by linking individuals with tools vital for growth in the 21st century.
Mission Statement
To meet the challenging needs of women, children and families in sub-Saharan African and America.
Education
To narrow the achievement gap by instituting academic readiness programs that is rigorous, provides social support, exposes children to technology, college preparation and career development; and, to link children from low-income backgrounds with scholarship opportunities to achieve their educational goals.
Health and Community
To weaken inequalities that impede health, and well-being by working with communities to address barriers to their health, and by integrating wraparound health and social service programs that are evidenced-based and uses best practice to meet the holistic needs of children and their families.
