National Volunteer Fire Council
There are over 1 million volunteer first responders in the U.S. Volunteers comprise 71% of the nation's firefighters and respond to emergencies of all kinds - from fire and emergency medical incidents, to natural disasters and terrorist threats. These volunteers are critical to the safety and preparedness of our communities. The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is the leading nonprofit membership association representing the interests of the volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services. The NVFC serves as the voice of the volunteer in the national arena and provides invaluable tools, resources, programs, and advocacy to support first responders across the nation.
