Women In Fatherhood, Inc.
Women In Fatherhood, Inc. (WIFI) is an organized voice of women with diverse perspectives and experiences. We are a national 501c3 (since 2008) comprised of women with direct and indirect professional involvement in the responsible fatherhood field. The mission of Women In Fatherhood is to contribute to, and advocate for, family and community well-being through the support of positive father involvement and healthy family relationships. Our members have demonstrated a track record for bringing together national and community-based organizations representing low-income fathers with local and national organizations working on behalf of low-income women and survivors of domestic violence to identify common practice and policy goals. Additionally, our members have significant expertise in fatherhood program and practice, fathers, families and family systems, quantitative and qualitative research, and correctional policies, practices and litigation. WIFI’s Directors and Board bring a wealth of skills and expertise on various projects and issue areas related to our global mission of strengthening fathers, families and communities. WIFI has targeted efforts in the following specific issues areas because they represent opportunities to influence public will, policies, programs, and/ or practices to more fully integrate supports for fathers and their positive role in families and communities: 1. Incorporating the voices of women in responsible fatherhood, 2. Domestic Violence, 3. Child Support, 4. National Fatherhood Policy 5. Access and Visitation, 6. Effective Co-parenting, 7. Healthy Relationships and Marriage, 8. Maternal and Child Health, and 9. Incarceration and reentry.
