Femin Ijtihad means the critical thinking of gender in Islamic law. Our aim is to increase the accessibility of gender-neutral interpretations of Islamic law and inspiring stories about women in Islamic, Pashtun and Afghan Tales to grassroot organisations and activists in Afghanistan.
We operate pro-bono, pulling in a team of law students, lawyers and professors to respond to requests for assistance by activists and grassroots organisations. We have a library of scholarly and educational materials on Gender in Islamic law and Islamic traditions. In addition, we also have a set stories that promote gender solidarity and biographies of inspiring Muslim women. These materials will be very useful for your training, campaigning and awareness activities.
Any organisation, activist and lawyer can request for research assistance, technical review of laws, and educational products like books and leaflets to support all gender and human rights related projects.
