Baan Unrak Children's Village
Baan Unrak, which means "Home of Joy" in Thai, is a non-government, non-religious, non-political community development project founded in 1991 to serve the people in need of Sangklaburi, Thailand. We focus on supporting children and mothers in our community. Our guiding principle is the Neo-Humanist philosophy; stated simply, we believe that we should love and care for all beings in the universe. The primary part of our mission is our children's home which provides food, housing, emotional support and educational opportunities to over 140 children. The Baan Unrak Primary School was founded in 2005 and now serves over 250 children from our children's home and the community. We also run an outreach program providing relief to those in our community with extreme need, as well as a Single Mothers' Project to provide food, housing and jobs to single mothers.
