About Us
At Optimist, we’re creating films with impact. We’ve made short and feature documentaries (Living on One Dollar, Salam Neighbor) that are designed to change lives. In 2020, we released a feature film (Five Years North) at Full Frame Film Festival (now on PBS) and a short film (The Undocumented Lawyer) at Tribeca Film Festival (now on HBO). We have two feature films in production in 2021. One of them, Ethereum: The Infinite Garden, executed the largest documentary crowdfund in history — raising $1.97 million in 48 hours via NFT sale.
We’re committed to making a long-term positive change and run education and engagement campaigns around each film that have raised $91M for causes including refugee education, microfinance, undocumented youth legal resources, and financial literacy.
