About Us

March of Dimes is dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Some March of Dimes activities you may be familiar with are: March for Babies, Signature Chef's Auction, Jail & Bail, and the distribution of educational materials. March of Dimes was founded in 1938 by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the response to the polio epidemic. The March of Dimes led Dr. Jonas Salk and a team of scientists to the cure for Polio.
