Genius Child Arts and Education Center for Neurodivergent Learners

  • Mission

We are pleased to provide an afterschool program for neurodivergent elementary students ages 5-13 . In addition to providing tutoring in reading and math using evidence-based methods of instruction, we also have a rigorous arts program where students can express their unique perspectives through painting, music composition, poetry, sewing, theatre, and culinary arts.

    About Us

Hi there! I am Alison Williams. I'm a mother, artist, special education teacher, and founder of Genius Child Arts and Education Center. My experience as a public school special education teacher has fueled my desire to create a safe space for neurodivergent students. Far too often, a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, or a learning disability leaves a child feeling stigmatized and isolated, especially in the school setting. Our program aims to create an environment that celebrates the uniqueness of children with learning differences rather than viewing students through the lens of deficiency. We are pleased to offer an afterschool program where students receive customized tutoring in math and reading and a rich arts program where neurodiverse students can express their unique perspectives through artistic mediums such as painting, music composition, theatre arts, sewing, and poetry. Simply put, we're here to help special education students see the light within themselves and provide a platform for them to shine that light onto the world. If you have any questions about our organization or want to get involved, we would love to hear from you!
