About Us

Temple Emanuel of Andover is a family of families, responsive to the needs and diversity of its congregants, the Jewish people and the local community. Our community is based on inclusiveness, where everyone is welcome, regardless of age, marital status, sexual orientation, a Jew by birth or by choice. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment for those who seek to express their Jewish identity through worship, music, education, rituals, cultural programs and connection to the state of Israel. One that promotes spiritual fulfillment and the well-being of our congregants.

In addition to its fine educational programs and distinguished membership, it occupies an unusual place along the landscape of Reform Congregations. While philosophically liberal, Temple Emanuel has, from its earliest days, maintained a healthy respect for tradition. From its Kosher kitchen to its Sabbath morning minyan, and its two-day observance of Rosh Hashanah the congregation has allowed Jews who prefer worshiping in different prayer milieus to feel comfortable.

Temple Emanuel is the largest Reform Congregation north of Boston and has become the religious and educational center for Reform Judaism in the Merrimack Valley. We are also a proud and active member of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). We invite you to become part of our community. Tour our preschool and religious school. Join us for a service or one of our many social, cultural and educational programs. It is our hope that you will find these spiritually fulfilling and enjoyable.
