  • Mission

At FSURC, we use horsemanship and equestrianism to teach life skills, instill discipline, and promote academic achievement, while preserving and connecting our community to the rich and long history of the Urban Black cowboy. We're dedicated to empowering our under served city youth, through horsemanship, providing a positive outlet for outdoor activities.

    About Us

Officially founded as a non-profit in 2004 by Ellis "El-Dog" Ferrell, Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a community-based organization in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, dedicated to providing horsemanship education, mentorship, and community engagement opportunities for youth in Philadelphia. The club has been a pillar of the community in North Philadelphia for over 50 years, offering a unique and positive outlet for young people to learn valuable life skills through their love of horses.
