About Us

Protestants for the Common Good ( is an association of Protestant lay persons and clergy in Illinois that encourages individuals of faith to relate their beliefs to public issues. PCG offers educational programs in churches and provides opportunities for advocacy, especially in areas of poverty/economic justice, affordable housing, campaign finance reform, educational funding, and criminal justice. Protestants for the Common Good seeks the membership of individuals rather than congregations as corporate entities; focuses on issues and does not support political candidates or involve itself in political campaigns; and encourages the diversity of views and a full range of discussions on the issues it examines and supports.
