African Aid Organization, Inc. (AFAID)
African Aid Organization, Inc. (AFAID) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Washington, DC. Its mission is to provide youth with the tools, knowledge and resources to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, and alleviate poverty. We currently focus our intervention in three countries in sub-Saharan Africa: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Uganda, but we intend to expand into more countries in the near future. We are entirely self-funding through donations from private individuals, foundations, and businesses both large and small. All public donations fund our programs, while corporate donations fund our operating and fundraising costs. Your donation allows us to continue helping these vulnerable children.
More than two decades into the AIDS epidemic, Children/youth in its path remain at grave risk. The risks are many, as children affected by HIV/AIDS may experience poverty, homelessness, hopelessness, school drop-out, discrimination, loss of life opportunity and early death.
Bringing Real and Lasting Change
Our objectives are intended to address the very factors that contribute to the spread of HIV/AIDS infection. We are looking to provide 2,500 HIV affected children and an estimated 15,000 family members with high-quality home-based care and counseling services. We will also provide a package of social support services to at least 25% of these 2,500 children.
Due to the extreme poverty among the youth we serve, priority is given to basic needs, such as food and school supplies. We will continue to help educate these children so that they can overcome illiteracy. We know that too many children live in silence with the harsh reality of poverty, hunger, and HIV/AIDS, and we work to help to restore hope and joy to these children’s lives. We will continue to invest all that we can in these children in order to help build a brighter future for them.
By providing impoverished children with a chance for a better future, you help to reduce their daily struggles, invest in their potential, and provide them with the opportunity to grow up healthy and prepared to succeed in life.
