About Us

The Bronx Health & Housing Consortium (“the Consortium”) is a collaborative network of more than 70 health care, housing, and community-based organizations and City and State government agencies, with the shared goal of streamlining access to health care and quality housing for the people of the Bronx. Since 2011, the Consortium has brought together stakeholders at the intersection of health and housing to break the silos between our institutions, increase awareness across sectors, and improve coordination between the health and housing systems in order to better serve people with chronic medical and/or behavioral health issues who are homeless or unstably housed.

The Consortium achieves its mission through three major areas of focus:

(1) Research & Advocacy, to better understand the scope of people with health and housing issues, their unique needs, the gaps in the systems that they touch, and how can we collectively address those gaps;

(2) Training & Resource Development, to help the people who are serving this population to get the information and resources they need in order to better support their clients/patients; and

(3) Cross-Sector Collaboration, to provide forums for people from different sectors and organizations to meet, share knowledge, identify common issues, and build relationships.
