The Boys & Girls Club of Brockton mission is "to nurture strong minds, healthy bodies and community spirit through youth-driven quality programs in a safe and fun environment."
Club membership is diverse. Traditionally, Boys & Girls Club welcome all youth regardless of their economic situation or the challenges they face in their lives. A child is never turned away. We do have a growing number of children in the foster care system and almost one-third of our population lives in a family at or below poverty level. Statistics show that approximately 80% of our members live in a single family home with the only adult in their life is either their mother or a female guardian.
Located in downtown Brockton, the Warren Avenue Clubhouse is within the geographic area that has an ADA Disadvantage Index rating of 9 out of 10. The index measures poverty level, crime rates, and other barriers that inhibit children and their families from succeeding. Children that join the Club are appreciative of the caring support and guidance they receive from the staff. They are eager to learn and want to succeed.
