Teddy Davis for Los Angeles City Council
We are currently in the organizing stage of our campaign and are looking to recruit motivated politicos to join our campaign through our intern program!
This is NOT your typical campaign internship. This is an opportunity to work in an amazing office with real responsibility. Our interns aren't relegated to coffee runs and making copies.
Interns that prove themselves will be well-positioned for a career in campaign management, consulting, communications or city government. You will have the chance to make some real connections.
This opportunity will give students and aspiring politicos hands on training in campaigning and will include experiences with precinct targeting and outreach, phone banking, fundraising, drafting policy and campaign communications, direct mail, media marketing, voter targeting and voter identification.
Interns will be taught the tactics employed by a modern political campaign. The program will be a great experience with a Los Angeles City Council campaign and an opportunity to display leadership skills and exhibit initiative. Interns commit to a minimum of 12 hours a week and must be ready to roll up their sleeves and work hard!
Many of our interns are college students and we can accommodate college schedules. In addition, if students cannot meet the 12 hours minimum, we may have many other opportunities available to them.
Interns must be:
Willing to take on a variety of tasks
Work quickly and efficiently
Possess strong written/verbal communication skills
Comfortable speaking/corresponding with a variety of people i.e. high-level city officials and community members, donors, members of the media, potential voters
We're always looking for interns with:
Strong ties to community
Graphic design skills
A strong command of social media
