ASSOCIATION FOR SOCIAL HEALTH ACTION

ASHA's mission incorporates 'action, research, training and developmental programs'based on targeted group's self assesed needs. It facilitates depriveded and marginalised children's, esepecially girls'access to education. It works for gender sensitization, reproductive health of women, strengthening of self-help groups and ensures community participation in resolving religious, ethenic, caste and class conflicts. ASHA also works towards facilitating community's access to basic services like health, care, hygiene, sanitation, housing, drinking water, prevention of environmental and ecological degradation etc. ASHA also involves community against social evils like dowry,caste stigma, child marriage, communalism etc.
