Description

Our community development interns will work alongside Runa Foundation staff to participate in the development of Fair Trade certified farmer cooperatives. Since October of 2011, Runa Foundation has been working with local farmers; holding training workshops, managing administration and coordinating with Fair Trade USA. This is a unique opportunity to get firsthand experience working with farmers cooperatives on an international level.

Runa Foundation staff and interns work with the cooperative representatives to facilitate meetings, helping to strategize on methods or organization and communication. Currently, Runa Foundation is working to support and assist the guayusa cooperatives as they begin to use the funds they receive through Fair Trade on community development projects.

Intern activities and responsibilities include; coordinate administration for the association, attend all meetings and training sessions, facilitate training sessions in areas of expertise, assist in the implementation of community development projects.
