ORGANIZATION

COLLECTIVE AGENCY WAS FORMED IN NOVEMBER 2016 FOLLOWING THE RESULTS OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. WE BRING TOGETHER HUNDREDS OF MEDIA PROFESSIONALS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHO USE THEIR EXPERTISE IN VIDEO, PHOTOGRAPHY, GRAPHICS, ANIMATION, MUSIC, SOCIAL MEDIA AND MORE, TO AMPLIFY THE EFFORTS OF PROGRESSIVE ORGANIZATIONS AND MOVEMENTS.


COLLECTIVE AGENCY HAS CREATED DOZENS OF PROJECTS FOR ACTIVIST MOVEMENTS LIKE INDIVISIBLE, SWING LEFT, WOMEN'S MARCH, MARCH FOR OUR LIVES, AND MANY MORE - AND OUR WORK HAS IMPACTED MILLIONS OF VIEWERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.


DESCRIPTION

Collective Agency is looking for a Summer intern to play a key role in supporting the organization's growth through internal and external-facing marketing efforts focused on social media and email marketing campaigns. Collective Agency is growing rapidly and interns will have an opportunity to work hands-on in key areas of the organization as they are being developed. Candidates should be prepared to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in marketing, community engagement and growth tactics. You will collaborate with experts in digital marketing, PR, social media, digital content, TV production, design, product development, events, and influencer engagement.


The ideal candidate is a flexible, self-starter with strong communication skills, experienced using lead generation platforms like LinkedIn, and is passionate about the progressive-resistance movement and the issues in which we’re involved.


Social Media

  • Support content and engagement strategy for three primary social platforms: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Schedule daily social posting calendar supporting Collective Agency's work, initiatives, and partners
  • Draft and execute posts and engage with fans and followers, in collaboration with social team
  • Curate relevant creative content from the progressive movement for use across social platforms
  • Help craft and manage process for rapid social response to breaking news and other trending topics
  • Gather data on social media performance and assist in analysis of new tactics and campaigns
  • Collaborate on paid advertising campaigns


Creative Content

  • Develop on-brand, platform-native (and cross-platform) content franchises, templates and one-off content
  • Create new and source existing simple visual (still) social content, memes, GIFs, etc
  • Edit short videos (e.g. w/ simple graphics and found or original footage) for quick turnaround on social media
  • Foster the creation, collection and distribution of volunteer, celebrity/influencer, and candidate/campaign-generated content—including video, photography, and written content, templated AND one-off


Talent Engagement

  • Research and coordinate with high-profile supporters, including members of the entertainment, fashion, art, tech, business, and political worlds, to support, amplify and participate in social media and creative content initiatives,
  • Draft template social sharing language to promote pre-defined Collective Agency and partner initiatives


Requirements

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a knack for social media and storytelling!
  • News media and progressive political/social content addict. Knowledge of what’s happening in politics as well as broader cultural trends (entertainment, business/tech, arts/fashion, etc)
  • Professional social media experience
  • Some experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar design software
  • Some experience video editing on Adobe Premiere or similar software
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment and at a rapid pace
  • Flexible and embrace opportunities for growth and learning new skills
  • Participating in weekly check-in and evaluation sessions with one of the Co-Executive Directors



Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying potential private, NGO, and government partnership leads;
  • Maintaining and growing Collective Agency pipeline and contact database;
  • Assisting in development and execution of outbound business development campaigns;
  • Assisting in preparation and design of client proposals and budget assessments;
  • Conducting business analysis and financial forecasts;
  • Participating in weekly check-in and evaluation sessions with one of the Co-Executive Directors

What To Expect

Once you’re on our radar, we’ll have a few conversations before making a decision. We are looking to find an intern as soon possible. We will decide by 5/31 but possibility to start earlier if we find the right candidate. This position has the opportunity to turn into a part-time paid position in September.
