The Latino Victory Project works to build political power so that the values and voices of Latinos are reflected at every level of government and in the policies that drive our country forward. LVP does this by developing a pipeline of Latino leaders, building a pipeline of Latino donors, and by ensuring that the voices of Latinos are heard on Election Day and in the important policy fights beyond Election Day.

Position Summary

The Latino Victory Project is seeking a Finance Director. The qualified candidate will be a self-starting, motivated person who is highly trained in fundraising campaigns and major gift development with the ability to develop and nurture relationships with key donors, as well as special event planning experience.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

·     Develop comprehensive and integrated fundraising program and ensure effective implementation of the program

·     Establish fundraising goals, identify potential donors and other fundraising sources, and monitor/report on deliverables regularly

·     Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions; may include a donor membership program

·     Fundraising outreach; build and maintain strategic partnerships with the donor community

·     Generate lists of affluent and successful constituents and make personal appeals for support at special events and private meetings

·     Plan events/house parties, working with the Advisory Committee Members to identify and recruit co-sponsors and event participants

·     Facilitate direct fundraising at events, through credit card and online contributions, gift envelopes, etc.

·     Compile or develop proposal materials with the President to submit to granting or other funding organizations

·     Draft email and mail solicitations; develop online and direct mail requests for contributions targeted at large audiences

·     Direct or supervise fundraising staff, including volunteer staff members

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability

·     Minimum of 5 years of successful fundraising experience

·     Strong networking capabilities

Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability

·     Spanish language skills desirable

·     Experience using NGP and Act Blue

·     Ability to exercise a high level of judgment and discretion, and to manage multi-faceted programs and sensitive political situations

·     Ability to work well and creatively under multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a team environment and independently
