Join us to build an economy that puts purpose before profit.
The Associate Programme is the perfect launch-pad for your purpose-driven career. It is a one year leadership programme that allows you to transition into the social and environmental impact space. It combines paid work with professional and personal development; it gives you the chance to be part of an inspiring network of like-minded people.
The Associate Programme is full-time, based in London and runs for 12 months from April 2019. You work in placement 4.5 days a week and spend Friday afternoons with your cohort in training. You are paid a salary of £22.5k p.a. Six months after the programme, alumni are paid on average a salary of £45k p.a.
Here’s what the Associate Programme looks like:
Placements: You work with two purpose-oriented organisations for six months each, doing strategically important work and reporting to senior management within those organisations. Associates have, for example, managed a climate activism campaign for Ben & Jerry’s, reporting to their European Head of Social Mission; built the food waste charity FareShare’s operational plan for new regional centres and analysed impact investment deals at Big Society Capital. You take on new challenges and use your existing skills to solve key problems for the organisations. Here are more details about the day-to-day work of Associates.
Training: Every Friday afternoon you learn from experts from diverse sectors who share their knowledge and experience with you and your cohort. We receive training from top professionals and organisations including McKinsey, Ellen MacArthur Foundation and from our alumni who work in social enterprise organisations. Your cohort is also a powerful group of like-minded people with whom you share your learning and experience.
Mentors and coaches: You meet a mentor fortnightly, who guides and challenges you to add value to your placement. You meet an executive coach every quarter focused on your long-term development.
Community and network: We’ve worked with more than 1,500 Associates, placements, mentors, coaches and trainers across London, Paris and Berlin all of whom contribute to building a sustainable economy.
85% of our Associates continue to work with purpose-led organisations, like Candice as Investment Director at Big Society Capital, Joe as CE100 Network Manager with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation; and Alex as Marketing Manager at Natural Capital Partners.
Applications close on Sunday 4th November 2018.
Join us at our Associate Programme Introduction Event on October 17th, where you will be able to speak to our team, current Associates, Fellows and other candidates.
You must have the right to work in the UK to apply for the Programme. On Purpose cannot sponsor visas. Associates have, on average, between five and seven years of full-time paid work experience and we accept applications from candidates that have at least two years full-time paid work experience. We're also recruiting fluent French and German speakers for our Associate Programmes in Paris and Berlin.
We are a community that welcomes diversity in all forms, through different professional and personal backgrounds, and encourage applications from anyone who’s passionate about purpose-led work. If you’re unsure if you should apply, please be in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
