We are seeking a Communication Specialist to create and lead unforgettable experiences with Holacode´s partners and team. The position is a new role that requires a motivated individual who sees possibilities, has a growth mindset, and has a passion to shape the future of this role.

A Communication Specialist is ultimately accountable for the experience and success of each Cohort (from recruitment till graduation). This role includes a wide variety of responsibilities including internal and external communication, managing all logistics related to events, building and maintaining strong relations with our candidates, students, alumni and partners; as well as providing top notch customer service.

Working at Holacode is more than just a job, this is definitely not your typical company. The role requires you to constantly switch between wearing many hats and connecting frequently with our partners and customers, sometimes during weekends. Our Communication Specialist needs to lead by example and to continuously build community. A successful candidate has superior communication skills and a great ability to improvise and be creative with all resources. The ideal candidate has a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and can work collaboratively with the rest of the team, as well as a self starter that provides new inputs and ideas. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and Develop External Communication Strategy - Ability to develop and design a full strategy for media & campaigns to ensure that our message and personality are communicated correctly to our candidates, students, alumni and business partners. Generate a strategy and content for media in our social channels.
  • Create Unforgettable Experiences and Community - Create unique experiences as well as foster strong community engagement, with perfect communication and execution for candidates, students and alumni.
  • Customer Service - Create the strategy, managing the recruitment / admissions process and candidates questions to effectively solve all issues with impeccable communication and expectation setting. 
  • Event coordinator/facilitator: serve as the point person for regularly scheduled events, requires logistical planning & space accommodation.
  • Create Internal Strategy Communication - Analyze, create and recommend strategies to increase internal communication efficiency.
  • Professional Development and Network - Excelling at building professional networks and finding opportunities for our students.

Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of experience in communication or customer service in a professional setting.
  • Experience juggling multiple projects, tasks or responsibilities in a startup environment.
  • Extended experience working with and providing services to globally-minded remote-working professionals, digital nomad, or coworking/coliving communities.
  • Knowledge about migration problems and a bicultural approach is a plus.
  • Knowledge about the tech sector/culture in Mexico and the US is a plus.
  • Knowledge about digital marketing territories: Social Media, Blogging, SEO & SEM, Branding, Email Marketing, Analytics.
  • Ability to develop and design a full strategy for media & campaigns.
  • Proven experience with digital marketing, PR and media.


Skills/Qualities

  • Interpersonal skills – this is a people’s job. You have to be able to and genuinely love connecting with diverse groups of people and personality profiles, all the time, in multiple ways.
  • Stamina - this is not your typical 9am to 5pm job. Your day can range from 9am to 5pm or 10pm to midnight. It varies almost daily, you need to maintain the energy of the community.
  • Create Opportunities - Passion for creating positive outcomes in people’s lives through education and dignified employment.
  • Communications skills - individual and group interaction, both with your community, our team, and business partners, will require much of your time and energy.
  • Organization Skills - ability to seamlessly manage multiple moving pieces on a daily/weekly basis from planning to full execution.
  • Patience and tolerance - this role will test you at times. You must show emotional maturity and thoughtfulness at all times.
  • Ability to Command a Crowd - You will need to host events, facilitate workshops, lead meetings, or get the attention of 30+ people.
  • Digital/Technology skills - must be able to learn new technologies and tools quickly and feel comfortable using tools like Discord, Slack, Hootsuite, Zoom and Google Suite.
