Position Overview

The HR Manager at Positive Energy Solar directs and manages the HR administrative functions to include but not limited to: recruiting, staffing, benefits administration, employee relations, compensation, training and development, compliance, and performance management. The HR Manager also develops, communicates and represents Positive Energy Solar’s culture and values, working to build and institute consistent opportunities for the employees to embody and experience our culture though policies, training, communication, role definition and corporate governance.

Role & Location: This is a part-time position based either in Santa Fe or Albuquerque. Regular travel to offices in other regions (Santa Fe - Albuquerque - Las Cruces) is required.

Job Responsibilities

·       Responsible for all aspects of recruiting, onboarding, orientation

·       Supports managers with performance issues, professional development, orientation, and employee feedback.

·       Responsible for employment law compliance

·       Manages benefits, including responding to employee inquiries, open enrollment, gathering quotations and evaluating new benefits

·       Assist managers to optimize roles and responsibilities to achieve organizational objectives

·       In partnership with managers, lead initiatives for operational and organizational excellence

·       Support departments to align with and implement strategic goals

·       Lead employee communication activities to engage employees in vision and strategic goals; provide information helpful in professional development and service delivery; and to promote and enhance culture

·       Acts as a liaison between employees and management

·       Plans, coordinates, carries out, managed budget for and measures effectiveness of training and orientation programs

·       Seek, secure and administer work force development grants

·       Responsible for HR record keeping policy, procedures and implementation

·       Manages B-Corp initiative to include: development and maintenance of measurements; annual reporting; working with managers to identify areas for organizational improvement and leading identified initiatives as appropriate; leading the recertification initiative when necessary; working with marketing to represent Positive Energy Solar in BCorp materials and leverage the BCorp certification in marketing; providing feedback to Blab, and other activities as appropriate.

Management Duties

All Managers at Positive Energy are responsible to work to ensure the company’s success. They are responsible to learn about and give input to financial results, planning, policies and initiatives. They accomplish this partly through active participation at the managers’ meetings, regional meetings, and the annual company meeting and also by collaborating with other managers. They take feedback from their team members to improve processes, products, culture and safety. They develop team member skills and understanding of broader business issues. They work cross functionally to improve teamwork, customer service delivery, employee satisfaction and profitability. They represent the company to the outside world and spread Positive Energy!


Desired Skills & Attributes:

·       Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel; both oral and written

·       Demonstrated commitment to thorough and respectful processes

·       Proven ability to mediate and assist in various personnel situations

·       Experience participating and or leading a team as well as working independently

·       Experience developing and establishing HR policies and procedures

·       Proven focus on customer service, with a high response rate for all outside inquiries

·       Proven success with recruiting and on-boarding new employees

·       Experience researching and analyzing data

·       Familiarity with employment law

·       Attention to detail

·       Familiarity working with various state agencies as it relates to HR

·       Ability to facilitate various process to help the company meet various goals

·       Strong computer skills in, but not limited to: Excel, Word, Power Point, HRIS

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

·       BA/BS degree

·       PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

·       3+ Years of experience working in Human Resources

Physical Requirements:

·       Must be able to walk, bend, squat, and lift 40 pounds

·       Must be able to sit or stand at a desk and use a computer for 8+ hours per day

·       Up to 50% travel is required to support all regional offices
