Our partner is dedicated to animal welfare and creating a culture of animal care and compassion. They are seeking an Accountant (CIMA or equivalent) to provide support and training to their new Accounts Manager and offering coaching and capacity building support as necessary.

The charity is the first and only animal welfare organisation in Malawi, working with animal owners, farmers and stray populations. Their programmes include a veterinary clinic, community farm and spay clinics, a rehoming shelter, an annual mass urban rabies campaign and a donkey sanctuary project.

They have recently started new accounting software and would like guidance on how to make the most of this, particularly its financial management features. You will be reviewing their use of Sage and the POS system and suggesting improvements and providing training to their staff. Your focus will be on the profitability of their veterinary hospital and will be helping to assess whether it is generating profits and introducing ways to understand and review operational costs that can feed into their project budgeting.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain relevant experience in an international NGO, with the aim of transitioning into the sector.

This voluntary assignment is a unique opportunity to apply your professional skills in an international development setting, significantly contribute to the support and development of local staff and have a lasting impact. If you are a qualified accountant, looking to make a difference and gain relevant international experience to help you transition into the sector, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
