The director of finance and operations is department head for the finance and operations department, serves on the company’s management team, and supervises staff responsible for accounting, AR and AP, operations, information systems, inventory management, human resources, and facilities. This director provides financial and operational leadership to help BK analyze and track financial performance, meet financial targets, improve processes, and carry out growth strategies; help individual staff members identify individual and group performance needs, set performance expectations, develop needed competencies, and communicate results; make sure that all BK stakeholders are fairly compensated for their contributions; and help BK practice quality, stewardship, partnership, sustainability, and inclusion in all aspects of our business. Please see a comprehensive job description, including job responsibilities, at the BK website: https://bkconnection.com


QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have extensive financial management, business, and accounting expertise that they have successfully applied in leading the financial management of business or nonprofit organizations. They must have extensive analytical expertise that they have applied in preparing financial analyses, models, projections, and budgets. And they must have experience leading teams to improve financial and operational processes. Also valuable are experience managing human resources, information systems, customer service, and other areas of operations. Experience in book publishing would be beneficial but is not required.  

We seek applicants who have demonstrated a track record of success in accomplishing significant advances in complex and challenging environments. Among the factors to be considered in judging applicants, in addition to the qualifications named above, will be (1) applicants’ track record of proactively taking initiative to institute innovations and advances that addressed needs, solved problems, and exploited opportunities; (2) applicants’ history of performing responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and efficiency; (3) applicants’ history of making themselves accountable for performance and delivering on accountabilities; (4) applicants’ history of maintaining a positive, engaged, committed attitude, even in a challenging environment; (5) appli-cants’ history of continually advancing their own and others’ learning and development; and (6) applicants’ history of collaborating well with coworkers and being a supportive and responsible organizational citizen.


COMPENSATION:

·      Salary: $104,000 per year
