Glen’s Garden Market is a grocery, deli and craft beer bar with two locations in Washington, DC. Glen's exists to make climate change progress – one bite at a time – by serving Good Food from Close By, and growing relationships with partners, who treat their land, their animals and their ingredients with respect. At Glen’s Garden Market, every single decision we make is made with the environment in mind, from our sourcing criteria to the packaging and equipment we use to our waste management protocols. In just under five years, we have launched 79 local, small food businesses that share our commitment to sustainability. Of those, 42 are owned by women and 57 produce within the District of Columbia.
We're looking for someone to manage our bustling deli. We serve fresh, housemade salads, soups, sandwiches and pizzas and we offer brunch service on the weekends. The successful applicant will have experience managing both people and products. At Glen's, the role of a manager is to motivate -- we prepare each other to succeed, we never tear each other down. Our new deli manager will exhibit the following traits: calm under pressure, competence in safe food handling, experience working in a fast-paced food service operation, excellent service instincts, adept conflict resolution skills and sense of urgency. They will be an excellent teacher and an inspiring leader. Unlike a typical restaurant, our deli closes at 10pm, so if you're looking for a fun but challenging change from standard restaurant hours, and you think you'd thrive in our quirky, sassy, mission-driven market, we'd love to talk with you about the possibility of your joining our team.
We offer a robust set of benefits including subsidized health care, free daily meals, an in-store discount, abundant professional development opportunities and an authentically empowering workplace. Growth potential is abundant.
