About Us

Sticks is a fashion brand that seeks out the use of ancient traditions to create products that add meaning to our lives. We travel to remote villages to invest in artisan talent because we believe that people matter. We feel that it is time to rethink outdated manufacturing practices that don't serve us. Sticks is a socially conscious brand on a mission to bring tradition back into our products.

Investing in Indigenous Culture

We care about our world's indigenous cultures. There are some 370 million indigenous people living today. Incredibly, these tribes safeguard 80% of our worlds remaining biodiversity. They are the gatekeepers to vital ancestral knowledge on how to adapt to changing climates. The reality is, our indigenous communities are not properly served and a majority live in poverty. Sticks employs skilled indigenous Mayan women in Guatemala and provides them with a fair and steady income.

Modern look, Ancient Tradition

Imagine crafting your own clothing from a simple arrangement of sticks. For two thousand years the Mayans have done just this, hand weaving some of the worlds most exquisite fabrics on backstrap looms. We work to elevate the beauty of ancient craft by combining its rich history to modern design.

Environmental Impact

Sticks works with humans not machines. Our textiles are made on non-mechanized ancient looms. There is little to no waste during the production of our fabrics. Each Sticks piece is a work of art.
