Fundraising and Funding Support for a Social Initiative Helping Entrepreneurs to Recover from the Pandemic

Our goal is to contribute to reactivating the EU economy and contributing to Sustainable Development Goals. Right now our main initiative is Lockdown Economy that supports entrepreneurs, SMEs and business students in overcoming the hit of the pandemic. If you feel that you need a channel to make an impact and play a role in these issues, we invite you to join our team of volunteers!

The Fundraising volunteer has a very important task of looking and testing different ways of how we can finance our activities on this initiative (recording new seasons of interviews, running local editions of the initiative, promotional budget, administration costs and the work of volunteers).

More specifically here are a few things you will be responsible for:

  1. Funding search mostly within the EU
  2. Preparing the application documents for funding
  3. Identifying other options of financing such as sponsorship, crowdfunding, etc.

We are open to your ideas given your experience in fundraising. We are looking for volunteers because there is just so much to do for this amazing initiative. So keep in mind that most of the ideas you suggest, you will be putting in practice yourself.

This could take you from 8 to 16 hours per week depending on your availability.

Requirements:

  • Full proficiency in the English language
  • Knowledge of European funding opportunities
  • Previous experience with filing funding applications
  • Desire to work together for the common goal
  • Skill to work with long written documents

About the Project

The Lockdown Economy is a series of interviews where entrepreneurs from various parts of the world and occupations share how the lockdown has affected them and what their market looks like now. The objective of the Lockdown Economy is to give them a forum to speak, to provide a source of inspiration to a wider community of entrepreneurs, give them access to role models and inventive ideas on how to adapt and reinvent themselves to overcome the crisis of pandemic. We started out in English but now we are creating local editions where people can speak their own language and find out the insights from their own towns and regions.

The Lockdown Economy is also a powerful resource of educational materials. It would allow students to work with real-time cases. We plan to distribute these materials to business schools through platforms such as Edx and through collaboration with on-campus courses of educational institutions worldwide.

The initiative fulfils the United Nations recent call to increase efforts towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals, by contributing to economic growth (SDG 8), better education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and stronger mental health (SDG 3). This initiative brings entrepreneurs of the world closer together in building the new better world based on inclusion, equity and sustainability.

The organizer of the initiative is the Global Think Tank for Sustainable Development AlterContacts
