Member activities will center around liaising between maintenance teams and the community to best improve processes. Members will coordinate with relative water maintenance teams to organize and field escalation requests in low-income neighborhoods and act as a liaison between both entities. In addition, Summer Associates will support the team leading the Sewage Onsite Support (SOS) program by capturing data on program performance and soliciting feedback from customers.

Our overall goal for this program is to better analyze data and report on agency initiatives in an effort to improve living conditions in low-income neighborhoods and bolster communication between them and agency offices. This VISTA role in particular deals with a lot of interaction with the community to receive relevant feedback on operations so they can effectively support the Administration Support and UMD Maintenance teams within the Bureau of Water and Wastewater to improve current reporting processes.
