In May 2020 we started the Lockdown Economy, an international non-profit initiative to help small businesses and self-employed overcome the crisis of the pandemic (more about the project below). And if you want to take an active role in this noble mission, you can join our team of volunteers! You can help us to bring entrepreneurs across the globe closer together in building the new better world based on inclusion, equity and sustainability.
We have recorded a lot of video materials that can help present the project and raise awareness about it. We are looking for a volunteer video-editor because there is just so much to do for this amazing initiative. So we need somebody who wants to take on making the promo videos, little documentaries, and so on with the video footage we have.
The first task we have is a short documentary about the Lockdown Economy Academy. It was an experimental cooperation with the MBA program of the university. To roll it out in other places we want to show them how it was. We have recorded all the sessions, preparations, expert-student conversations. Right now we are recording testimonials from students and reflections from experts who participated.
This could take you from 8 to 16 hours per week depending on your availability and how fast we can complete it.
Once we onboard you, you will have a chance to be part of a United Nations registered sustainable initiative. You will learn how to work in a dynamic team based on different continents. You will see the best practices of design thinking, agile and business development in action.
The Lockdown Economy is a series of interviews where entrepreneurs from various parts of the world and occupations share how the lockdown has affected them and what their market looks like now. The objective of the Lockdown Economy is to give them a forum to speak, to provide a source of inspiration to a wider community of entrepreneurs, give them access to role models and inventive ideas on how to adapt and reinvent themselves to overcome the crisis of pandemic. We started out in English but now we are creating local editions where people can speak their own language and find out the insights from their own towns and regions.
The Lockdown Economy is also a powerful resource of educational materials. It would allow students to work with real-time cases. We plan to distribute these materials to business schools through platforms such as Edx and through collaboration with on-campus courses of educational institutions worldwide.
The initiative fulfils the United Nations recent call to increase efforts towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals, by contributing to economic growth (SDG 8), better education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and stronger mental health (SDG 3). This initiative brings entrepreneurs of the world closer together in building the new better world based on inclusion, equity and sustainability.
The organizer of the initiative is the Global Think Tank for Sustainable Development AlterContacts.
