SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Bridges to Independence is a non-profit organization that leads individuals and families out of poverty and into stable, independent futures. We offer a continuum of aid and support for all family members, helping them attain financial security and self-sufficiency. The Youth Development volunteer assists the Youth Development Manager in leading at-risk youth and volunteer groups in our afterschool & summer programs. This is an opportunity to develop teaching and mentoring skills with elementary and middle school youth. The Youth Development volunteer should be able to commit 10-15 hours consistently. Week, Mondays through Thursdays. This volunteer position is ideal for a college student interested in youth development and education; Graduate students seeking to expand their teaching experience are encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL/FUNCTIONS:
REQUIREMENTS: Strong interest in youth development and/or previous
experience working directly with PreK-12 students. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate
or graduate program or recent graduate. Strong written and oral communication
skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be adaptable and
detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license
